SUBJECT INTEGRATION
MOUNT COLUMBUS SCHOOL always focuses on the integration of subjects for better learning platform. Integrated studies, sometimes called interdisciplinary studies, brings together diverse disciplines in a comprehensive manner, enabling students to develop a meaningful understanding of the complex associations and influences within a topic. This makes schooling more interesting and productive for students and teachers. As we know that creativity, adaptability, critical reasoning, and collaboration are highly valued skills, and it is important to foster those skills into classroom, integrated study is an extremely effective approach, helping students develop multifaceted expertise.
We always encourage our students for projects-based learning, collaborative learning and experiential learning. In this era of online classes, students became pro in doing online work and very much familiar with the information technology. Other key areas where we focus are to let them understand the concept with the help of tools from the other subjects.
We integrate art, music, visual and performing arts and combining other subjects like science with maths and social science with language and literature.
Our school witnessed many subject integrated activities like Nukkad natak, Skit, Collage making activities, Bottle art, Sand art, Doodle art, Journalism, Quilling art, Power point presentation, Stem project, Portrait making, Interview etc.
By departmentalizing and integrating two or more subjects, we guide our students in to enhance their skills. We take time to plan and intentionally integrate our lesson for effective teaching - learning process.
